Your Questions Answered

One of the reasons why TifTuf is so hardy and traffic tolerant is because it spreads with rhizomes and stolons, which means it’s self-repairing. Unfortunately, this also means you’ll need to keep an eye on the edge of your lawn area if you have garden beds next to it.

TifTuf is somewhat shade tolerant, and it can still grow well with up to 50% shade. Our most shade tolerant turf grass variety is Sir Walter.

The ideal time to lay TifTuf grass in Melbourne is spring and autumn. You can still lay it in winter, but it will take longer to establish. If laying in summer, you need to water it frequently, so it doesn’t dry out.
