Bonbeach Backyard Transformation

Rebecca's goal was simple, clear out a cluttered, underused backyard and replace it with a beautiful space her kids and animals could actually enjoy. The yard was taken up by an old shed, a playground, and tired existing grass that had run its course. She wanted it all gone and replaced with something fresh, clean, and low maintenance. A proper lawn the whole family could make the most of every single day.

With 50 square metres to work with the focus was on creating a clean, open lawn that felt generous and usable for a family with kids and animals. Rebecca took a methodical approach, removing the shed, playground, and old grass before treating the area, mowing it low, and digging it up to prepare a proper base. Turf soil was brought in, the area was levelled and flattened, and the Sir Walter was laid and watered in. A well executed DIY job from start to finish.

Clearing the site was the biggest job on this project, removing a large shed, a playground structure, and existing grass before any prep work could begin. Rebecca followed Lilydale's Love Your Lawn care guide, which comes included with every order alongside garden gloves, a free fertiliser, and a Keep Off the Lawn sign. The delivery driver also took the time to stop, look over the space, and offer practical advice on the spot, the kind of service that makes a real difference on a DIY project.

A total of 50 square metres of Sir Walter DNA Certified Buffalo was supplied for this project. Ordered and delivered the very next day. Rebecca chose Sir Walter on recommendation. Tough, dense, and beautiful to look at, it was the right fit for a backyard that needed to handle kids, animals, and everyday life without fuss.
