We pride ourselves on being able to offer more than just high-quality soft-leaf turf varieties. We’ve also cultivated our grasses to thrive in Victoria’s ever-changing conditions.
We develop, grow and harvest all of our soft-leaf turf on our own Victorian estates, where they acclimate to local climate and soil. When we harvest, we slice our turf into thick-cut slabs packed with the nutrition they’ll need to quickly establish in any location.

The miracle of Sir Walter DNA Certified Buffalo
You wouldn’t typically see a Buffalo grass on a list of soft-leaf grasses. Most Buffalo cultivars are, in fact, the opposite; the serrated edges of their leaves scrape against sensitive skin and create an uncomfortable carpet for picnics and play. They can also set off allergies in people and pets alike. So why have we included one on our list?
Unlike other Buffalo varieties, our unique strain of soft-leaf Buffalo grass has perfectly smooth leaves. But how that came to be is what’s so surprising. Sir Walter DNA Certified Buffalo turf was developed in NSW in an effort to create a grass drought resistant enough to withstand Victoria’s heat. As it was being cultivated for drought, successive generations began to naturally refine their blades into soft, smooth leaves. What luck!
Today, this miracle Buffalo is one of Melbourne’s most popular grasses.
