If this is an area for your children to play in then we suggest the Sir Walter Buffalo, which is quite soft, and being a creeping lawn, repairs itself if the children happen to damage any areas. Unlike Village Green Kikuyu and Kikuyu it only creeps over the surface, therefore is easy to keep out of your garden beds. Village Green Kikuyu and Kikuyu may be another option though purely for its aggression.
