Don't Forget to mow your Kikuyu
As a pre-warning, this is what happens when you don’t mow your Eureka Premium Kikuyu VG! This instant turf is perfect for those high traffic areas and active pets but if left as it has been on an unused area of our farm, it can soon become out of control #GrowsLikeCrazy #HeavyDutieGrass #LikesItRough
How We Grow Our Turf
We have so many people ask us our thoughts on Seeds Vs Instant Turf and if we have seed available. After explaining how our turf is grown here at the farm, people are very surprised how it’s all done. Our instant turf is harvested in rows with a small line of the turf left behind each time, this is all we need to ensure that it grows back into a full paddock in no time! Below is a photo of our Sir Walter Buffalo paddock at the Yarra Glen Farm after we have harvested our famous Qwelts out. You can see in this photo that the Sir Walter Buffalo is self-repairing and filling in the gaps that we have removed. #SeedsVsInstantTurf #SelfRepairing #NoSeedsNeeded #RunnerGrass #Qwelts
Hand Planting at the Yarra Glen Farm
There are very exciting times ahead for Lilydale Instant Lawn. We have recently hand planted a new variety of instant turf. Sir Grange is a successful product of these turf grass breeders, and has been catching the worldwide turf market by storm. Sir Grange is a fine bladed premium turf variety, which has high shade tolerance and very low nutrient and water requirements. Sir Grange was originally developed for the golf industry but it was soon discovered that due to its characteristics, it would make a fantastic home lawn. Its adaptability to a variety of climates, and its beautiful dark green leaf have seen it become the #1 selling zoysia grass in the USA. Sir Grange has been hand selected from over 10,000 different varieties of turf, with its superior qualities making it stand out from the crowd. Keep your eyes and ears out for updates on how this new variety is growing.
