Backyard Blitz for the Augustynski Family

Dear Lilydale Instant Lawn

A sincere thank you to you for your amazing support of our Backyard Blitz for the Augustynski family, who sadly lost one of their children just after Christmas last year.

Prior to our garden makeover their beautiful home had no garden and what little grass they had was patchy and dull.  Their new garden, including the Kikuyu install lawn that your company donated is thriving and their two children have been busy rolling around and playing on their luscious new lawn.

Thankyou, once again to you for your amazing support. It is actions like yours that make the world a better place.

Lilydale Experience – Hay of Hope

YARRA Valley farmers are rallying to send hay to flood-stricken Queensland.

Dixons Creek fire survivor Sonia Lee Inglese and Evan Davidson of Country Emergency Response Group (CERG) are driving the project. Thousands of bales of hay and silage have been promised after a call for help went out last week.

Ms Inglese and Mr Davidson said the response has been amazing, and not just from farmers.

One of the first to dive in was Sean Denny, a driver with Lilydale Lawns.

He was on the ground with the company’s water tanker on Black Saturday fighting the fire in Dixons Creek.He didn’t hesitate when he was asked to pick up 30 bales of hay from Chirnside Park last week.

“You can’t always help financially, but you just do what you can do to help,” he said.

The building and our grounds on St Kilda Road hold significance in Australian Deaf history and culture. With fierce economic pressures and the effects of a decade of drought, our grounds have really taken a pounding, even with a dedicated and talented gardener. The lawns generously donated by Lilydale Instant Lawns have lifted our grounds and significantly add to the enjoyment our grounds provide for our visitors, staff and most importantly for those we serve – deaf children and their families.”
